- Reviews and manages nursing informatics trends, experiences and approaches and assists the CNIO leadership team in ensuring that Sutter Health HIT direction is in line with global trends in medicine, informatics and HIT
- Manages facility based Nurse Informaticsts and coordinates Quality Champion activities across the Bay Area
- Attend Epic certification classes and obtain associated certification within 6 months of program completion
- Attend Epic Training, Environment and Documentation (TED) training program and obtain associated certification within 6 months of program completion

- Excellent understanding of and proven experience in utilizing electronic health record (EHR) technology to positively transform clinical practice by improving the quality of patient care, reducing costs, and driving user satisfaction across the care continuum
- Working knowledge of the nursing information systems implementation process, integration of workflows, use and support methodologies, regulatory requirements, strategic and tactical planning, project management and group dynamics
- Understanding of software User Interface (UI) design, software development life cycle (SDLC) or Joint Application Development, and knowledge of or exposure to project management methodologies
- Comprehensive knowledge of a major vendor's electronic health record (EHR) application such as Cerner and Epic
- Knowledgeable of healthcare trends (including healthcare reform), competitive intelligence, data analytics, big data and emerging technologies
- Proven ability to evaluate an organization’s IT systems and to contribute to the design and implementation of the electronic medical/health record (EMR)/EHR software and other clinical applications
- Sufficient manual and finger dexterity and hand-eye coordination to perform the basic functions of the position

- Two years’ experience with clinical applications in Post-Acute care
- Two years’ experience in a leadership or supervisory position
- Informatics experience in progressively responsible roles within a complex multi-site matrix managed healthcare environment required
- Possible exposure to bacterial and viral contamination
- Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly (Constantly: activity or condition exists 2/3 or more of the time) to move objects
- Note: The constant stress and strain of maintaining a production rate pace, especially in an industrial setting, can be and is physically demanding of a worker even though the amount of force exerted is negligible
- Established experience leveraging/integrating/implementing technology advances with EHR systems to improve services and daily operations, while keeping patient, hospital and practitioner data secure and accurate as typically acquired during 3-5 years in a similar role required
