- Develop understanding of Reliant customer data and invoicing processes in order to operate and make decisions accordingly
- Reconciliation of invoice charge amounts to financial entries posted into the account’s financial records (in SAP)
- Answer calls in a proficient and professional manner
- Notate the conversation on the patient's invoice in a practical and concise manner
- Update the insurance information and demographic fields on the invoice accurately
- Process credit card payments and offer discounts to qualifying patients
- Follow all Billing Operation procedures policies
- Employ basic analytical skills in correcting customer issues resulting from failed transactions in SAP, billing or invoicing errors and exceptions
- Collaborate with other internal groups to meet customer requests and/ or provide resolution to issues
- Provide timely and responsive resolution to other teams and departments for escalated customer issues, escalating to lead or supervisor
- Counsels patient/guarantor on patient’s financial liability, third party payer requirements and outside financial resources, including private organizations and foundations, eligibility vendor(s), Medicaid, Medicare, Champus, and/or federal disability programs, etc.
- Investigates No Fault and Workers’ Compensation cases, retrieving police report and insurance information, as required
- Reconciles charge transactions according to departmental policy
- Health care experience of up to 3 years
- Prepares and completes claims for commercial insurance companies, third party organizations and/or government or self payers
- Researches, analyzes and reconciles Medicare/Medicaid billing and reimbursement practices
- Consults with appropriate parties to resolve unbilled claims. Reviews recent accounts for proper billing practices and reimbursement

- Working experience in customer service or business office role (other healthcare related experience considered in lieu of Business Office)
- Experience knowledge/background working with agencies/vendors, billing and claims processes required
- Two (2) – Three (3) years experience in a hospital business office, physician’s office, or insurance billing environment
- Or more years’ experience in hospital billing and/or physician healthcare claims within a medium to large health care system
- Working experience in customer service or business office role required
